I have been in Oxford for the 3 months and this experience was definitely the most incredible I have ever done! It helped me to feel more confident with my English and to improve it a lot. My goal was to get a 6 in IELTS, I needed that mark for a school’s enrolment process. However, I finally got a better one, therefore I probably would not have reached it without this experience. During these 3 months, I was completely immersed in another world.
Everyday I was learning not only at school, like it would have been the case, if I had stayed in my country, but everywhere, all the time. If you want to express yourself, you have to do it in English because just a few or sometimes nobody speaks your mother language. Sometimes, it is not easy but in the end it is almost natural for you and you will probably dream in English as well!
Furthermore, this experience was rewarding in terms of personal development as well. I met a lot of people from different countries, different cultures and I realised that our world is so diverse and rich. We all have something to learn from somebody else.
Moreover, I was staying in very nice family, they made me feel at home and included me a lot their lives. The first day, when I entered in my room, they had written a nice note and let some chocolate to welcome me. They have always been very supportive, asking how I felt, especially when I was sick, what I did at school for example, like my parents would have done. It was very helpful for me when I was sometimes a bit homesick.
To conclude, there is a nice quote from Mark Twain which resumes very well my experience: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Therefore, if you have the opportunity to study abroad for a while, take advantage of it.

I have been in Oxford for 4 months and I have to say that I really miss that times. Everything was perfect. Before coming Oxford I had some doubts about staying at someone’s house because this was not going to be my first time. I also went to Cambridge 4 years ago for language school for 1 months and I hadn’t good experience about it. In brief, nothing happened that I expected before going to Oxford and I had a really great 4 months with my host family. They helped me from beginning to end also made me feel comfortable. I am so grateful for all that they have done for me. I highly recommend to go to Oxford. I assure you that you will never regret

Hi everyone, I want to share my experiences with you. I stayed in Oxford with this amazing family above 3 months. From my first day to last day with them, they were really very kind, sincere and understanding to me. They tried to make me feel in my own house and in a short time I felt myself as a family member. In addition they let me to use their kitchen, laundry room and wifi free. In my room I have all I need. Oxford is an amazing city for foreign students. Especially in summer holiday many students come from different countries. So it is a good chance to meet with new people and have fun I have lots of good memories with these beautiful people. I know that I have a second family in Oxford. You guys can be sure all my comments about this family come from heart. If you plan to come Oxford, I can absolutely recommend it.
